It’s a simple site, but it’s nice to use and there are lots of others in the tips and journals sections who can both offer advice or help you feel less alone in your fight.

Anyway, here’s what I came up with…

Basically, here’s the breakdown:

All checking and savings accounts included in “Cash”, both business and personal accounts.
Cars is my 2004 PT Cruiser.
Retirement is my Simple IRA.
Student Loans is my consolidated Sallie Mae loan.
Other Debts are medical bills, etc.

Right now, the only “past due” stuff I have are the medical bills and the Sallie Mae student loans. I really don’t like that bitch.

The truth of the matter is that the majority of this comes from my internet marketing and web design/development business. However there are other ways I’m making decent income off the internet.

I currently write a music blog for an awesome blog network called b5media. That blogging job is (at the moment) getting me about $160 a month. The income from that one blog has grown from the day I started, which back then was only $50 a month, and that was just about a year ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long!). Of course, the potential for this can continue to grow, as b5media also pays bloggers based on pageviews in addition to a flat rate each month. The more marketing and self-promotion I do for the blog, the more pageviews I get, which means more money.

I’m also doing some ghost writing for two other blogs, garnering me about $600 a month (these projects are starting officially in June). This runs through the business though, in a way, because I got those jobs from a client’s clients.

I also do some virtual assistant work for Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net. I met Darren face to face back a couple years ago at a meetup he held in NYC (one of the rare occasions he was here in the states), and things rolled on from there. Darren’s become not only a client, but also a very good friend of mine, and I am grateful every single day for the opportunity I had to meet him and connect our lives despite the 11,307 miles between us.

A.D.D. Moment: Did you know that Google Maps gives you funny ways to get to places overseas? When I was trying to get the exact miles from my home to Darren’s by asking for directions, Google told me to “Kayak across the Pacific Ocean” for 7,906 miles! Seriously, give it a try and see what they tell you. They also told me to swim the Atlantic to get to London one time!

Okay, back to the topic. I also have a total of 3 other blogs where I currently sell advertising via various methods (I’ll get into these one at a time at some point), and some projects still under wraps that I’m hoping will further generate more income.

Client projects can range anywhere from an hourly rate to full-fledged $1,500-$10,000 projects. As I’m sure you can imagine, the largest projects are fewer and farther between, however they are out there, and I have done several in the 2.5 years I’ve been in business for myself. I also do many projects for a couple thousand here and there, but those tend to be “feast or famine”, which is why I’ve decided to focus a lot of my energy on personal projects to help fill the voids.

So I hope that gives you a little insight to how I’m making money currently via online projects. In the past, I’ve worked eBay, sold my artwork and craft projects, and even sold off old clothing to make a few extra bucks, so using your imagination is a surefire way to help you get your finances a boost when needed.

What ways are you working to make more money online?

I’ve figured out my mandatory bills for May:

- Sallie Mae: $80
- Avenue (clothes) CC: $15
- HSBC/Dad: $150
- Car Insurance: $80 ($160 due in June)
- Cell: $98 (two phones)
- Office phone: $247 (yeah, I’m really late on that one)
- Health Ins.: $241

I’ve also got a goal of making an additional $1225 outside what I’m guaranteed to make. The cool thing is that those bills add up to $911 and my “budgeted expenses” like food, gas, etc. is $525. That’s a total of $1436 and my guaranteed income is $1275 – so that means out of the additional $1225 goal money, I’ll only need to use just under $200 of it. The rest might actually be able to go into savings, provided nothing outrageous happens!

I do have some additional things I know are going to cost me some money going on this month. Mother’s Day, my Gran’s birthday, a couple planned nights out with friends, that sort of thing. I’m hoping though that I can put at least $800 of the extra $1000 I’m trying to get into savings. It’s going to be tough, but I’m learning as I go here!

Speaking of learning as I go, I’ve learned that I need to spend more time on this site. I’ve always had the intention of doing so, but it just hasn’t happened for me. And now that my schedule’s a lot busier, I need to really hunker down and focus on writing even harder. I’ve built myself an editorial calendar, and hopefully I can stick to it.

Bottom line is that my net worth has dropped over last month, by almost $300 ($271 to be exact).

Now, for all practical purposes, a lot of things have changed recently that should bring this back up for me.

• I’m doing some work for a cousin for cash. I’m working out ways to try to figure out how to invest that extra cash, rather than have it laying around or just sitting there waiting to be spent.
• I’m no longer driving to visit my (now) ex-boyfriend, but I do have to drive to help my cousin out, but it’s cutting the travel from 7 days a week to 3 or 4 days a week.
• I do have a couple projects for work on the table – I’m running into issues with getting things set up properly, but for the most part, when they’re done, I can expect another $1250. I have another project that should get me $500 in total, but I’ve agreed to accepting payments, so it’ll be a couple months before I see that in total.
• I’m no longer selling digital downloads on eBay (thanks to their new rules) so I’ll be saving on fees.
• I’m adding a new blog to my list of blogs to write, which will eventually be monetized well and will start bringing me in some more money.

It’s amazing what becoming single again can do for your bank account! I have more time to work, and less need for spending. This could be even better than I thought!
