Making A Plan for 2011

When you’re in a situation where you’ve actually convinced yourself that you HAVE to make six figures each year (and it’s not because you want to, but because you need to), it’s time to sit down and make a plan. When you make a plan, you have to figure out all the ways to stick to it. I’m personally tired of doing that, and not sticking to it, so I’m giving myself (and you) notice now.

I’ve spent a lot of time with what I would consider “well off” people. I know that they bust their butts to make the money they do, and I know a lot about what they do in order to make it. I’m not messing around anymore, it’s my turn.

For 2011, I will:

  • Select 3 blogs, outside my business related blogs, and work on them diligently. One of them is going to be this blog. I haven’t figured out the other two yet, but this is going to be just one of the multiple ways I plan on increasing my income for 2011.
  • Organize my shopping. I have a friend who is the ultimate coupon-clipping, discount shopping queen. This girl somehow makes money when she buys stuff, I’m not even kidding you. I need to learn from her, and put things into place.
  • Pay down debts, use less credit. I’ve been building my credit up over the past couple years and right now I’m kind of on a fence with it. Not a decision fence, but a stability fence. If I use any more of it, I’m going to fall into a financial hole. I need to clear it up and trim it down, so that when the time comes to buy a home, I’ll be in the clear.
  • Eat more at home. I love cooking, so does my boyfriend, and I need to plan out meals based on a budget and go from there. Saving money on eating at home will also help me lose weight, which will just flat out benefit me all around anyway. Oh, and I’m going to the gym as my mom’s “guest” at least 2-3 times a week. Yup.
  • Writing ebooks. I have lots to teach people. I’m going to be writing a series of ebooks and putting them up for sale.
  • Consulting. I’m going to be doing less web design work and more web consulting work. I’ve got some great friends in the biz who can do the design work for me. I need to be paid what I’m worth, and with as much knowledge as I have, it’s definitely not in the design for me.
  • Making more jewelry, doing shows, teaching classes. All this stuff is external for me, meaning it gets me away from the computer, and lets me put my creativity to good use. I love making jewelry and painting and I’ve simply got to do more of it. Craftiness… that’s what I’ve got.

So there’s a basic if not boring plan, and I’m going to so totally track how I do with it here on the site. So if you’re interested, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed, and see the monthly updates.
